from straight from the fa Summary: I built my own ported box to the book's specifications as closely as I could, and the sound quality eminating from this sub was completely unmatched by anything I've ever heard. Sounded exactly like a bass drum at smart listening levels. Then I decided that I wanted to dab more into SPL...
My one w15GTi now takes up a good half of my trunk in my 99 Grand Am SE, is running with a JBL BP1200.1, and I can turn it up as loud as I want and it doesn't even BEGIN to distort! I have a 38 Hz tuned (I think, cant remember) gigantic box that pounds so hard I can't even see out of my mirrors. It's great to have a full body massage while driving down the road, with still some of the best sound quality I've ever heard in my life.
I would, without a DOUBT, recommend getting one of these if you have the money. Since I had hookups with Crown, I got them for dirt-cheap, but they are a bit pricey normally. Strengths: ENORMUS bass output... my 1200.1 can't even touch this thing.
BEAUTIFUL sound quality. Sounds like a sub should.
Looks awesome. Like staring at a black hole when you open your trunk. Weaknesses: PRICEY if you don't have factory hookups... something like 500-700 dollars.
Hard to find an amp that can give it the power it needs Similar Products Used: Also by Crown, I've used Infinity things. The rest of my speakers are being run by top-of-the-line Infinities, with my sub and amps being JBL. My old subs that I just sold were Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1's. Sounded great but can't touch my w15GTi :)
