Price Paid:  $100.00

Summary:
I have my single JBL 1000GTi in a ported box 2cu.ft tuned at 35Hz,
and powered by a Infinity Beta Digital 100, x-over 24db\8 at 70Hz.
this thing, is absolute SQ. real natural sound.
every low note can be heard with perfect clarity and definition. and no distortions.
just like a real good recording studio subwoofer!

My current system
HU Alpine 7862
high JBL Ti1" in kickpanel
midrange JBL400GTi in kickpanel
midbass JBL600GTi in door
powered by a Orion CS200.4
Sub JBL1000GTi
powered by a Infinity Beta Digital 100
and a personal x-over

Strengths:
produce real high spl and loud deep bass than any other 10" sub i've heard
this speaker has no distortion at all
It is a powerful sub
very natural sound, perfect reproduction of low notes
They are built extremely well
Every note is crisp and clear like you're in the recording studio itself
realistic sub.

Weaknesses:
it requires a big enclosure.... but i don't mind that at all

Similar Products Used:
MTX 4000, 6000 - > 4000 and 6000 sound like the Kicker until 40hz, poor building.
JL Audio W0 -> doesnt realistic sub reproduction, and handle no power.
Pioneer Premier -> good sub, clean, until 40hz.
cerwin vega Vega series - > ridiculous, sounds like a monkey beating in the floor with a baton of baseball.
Polk DX and EX -> sounds little bit better than the JL Audio W0, and can handle more power.
Kenwood - > this is not a Subwoofer, sounds like a mid-bass.
Sony ES -> poor sq, frequency response very bad, spl very weak.
Kicker compVr -> play pretty high (no hard), only this, poor sq.
Rockford Fosgate -> average spl, but has no good sq, not clean at all.
Infinity - > very good sub, good sq, good spl, but this distant one of being better of the one than a JBL.
and many others... all 10 inch subs.
only subs that I still did not have chance to compare with the JBLs,
had been Alumapro alchemy, A/D/S RS, Alpine R, Eclipse Ti, McCauley, McIntosh.

Price Paid:  $105.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Accord

Summary:
first I constructed the box for sub with intention if SQ, and it he touched impecavelmente, the sonorous definition was incredible, however box was weighing 48kg (21.762 lbs), using MDF of the 3/4 " and with all reinforcements necessary to prevent vibrations undesirable. e the SPL was so high that I was attemped I test it in the SPL modality, that I was not only with much available time, from there I decided only to syntonize the same box in a frequency a little higher... made this sub I am insane, I hammer extremely hard... I liked as much q I decided to leave box in modality SPL already q the SQ I was not very different after tres days hearing music in this system, I I was with a strong pain in the left ear, from there I decided to come back the tunning from box to SQ already q the SPL still I was very high this still because I am using only a very small amplifier for the Sub... I am going in briefing to buy a JBL p180.2, since this has power enough for this sub. this to subwoofer incredible, because generally one sub powerful (SPL) has the SQ many times deficient, and one another one with a good SQ has the deficient SPL, the JBL 1000GTi has the two SPL and SQ. this is one sub only for boxes ported.
my current system is:
CD player Alpine CDM7854
1 pair of coaixiais of 6.5 " JBL decade
1 pair of midranges 4 " JBL GTi in kickpanel
1 amp MTX Thunder 102
1 sub 10 " JBL GTi

Strengths:
free of distortions, sonorous reproduction impeccable, good sensitivity 91dB, to subwoofer very constructed well, very very deep bass, sub extremely musical, very rigid cone, wonderful tonal accuracy, very high SPL for single 10 "...

Weaknesses:
relatively great box 2cu.ft (for me this is not a problem, is not imported with this)

Similar Products Used:
MTX4000 series 10" I also have 1 in a ported box of 1.5cu.ft (good sub for the price) get good spl, but the quality of the sonorous reproduction leaves to desire :(
Kicker XPL 12"... my neighbor has 2 of 12 " in a sealed box enormous, (that it practically occupies all the gate luggages of its Nissan Altima), amplified for 1 to kicker ZR360, and the SPL of it is very inferior to mine, the quality nor if it speaks...
