Summary:
I think I paid about 650 for the cassette player and 6 disc changer...like I said, I wouldn't do it again, because now I burn so many CD's. The head unit is very clean and precise, although the tape player doesn't get much use anymore. A little pricey, because you can find a CD player with better features for about the same price.

Strengths:
Disc naming, wireless remote, 4V preouts, strong FM signal, many toys

Weaknesses:
I got this model before it really hit the stores, back in febuary of 98. I have it hooked up to an Alpine 6 disc changer(never skips--this changer is a gem). No subwoofer output, as most CD players have today. Most newer tape decks are flip down faces, to maximize the display....the 7564 has a nice display, but could have used the extra space. One thing that really annoys me is that when I rewind or fast forward tapes, there is no seek button. I have to estimate when the next song ends or begins. Another thing is that you can't listen to the radio or cd when you are fast forwarding the tape(if anyone can remedy these problems please let me know). When I bought this 2 years ago, CD burners were unheard of, and I still recorded tapes. If I was going to do it all over, I would not buy a tape player.

Summary:
I paid just under $300 for this receiver and I love it! It contains all the features I was looking for (removable faceplate, watts per channel, CD changer capable, cassette tape & tuner) and then some, like the wireless remote! I still haven't played with all of the features it's capable of...

There was a similar unit that had the single CD option versus the tape cassette option. At the time, I wanted the ability to play tapes, now, I wish I had choosen the unit with the single CD option--for those times when you want to play those new CDs right away--instead of having to change it out from your CD changer unit (which is mounted in the back, for me). In all, I'm satisfied with this purchase. I haven't had any problems (so far) in the almost 2 years that I've used this product!

Strengths:
The wireless remote control!

Removable face plate, watts per channel (turn it up), 12 CDs, music search, CD track advance, CD Random play, Tuner auto search, AM/FM channel storage, etc...

Weaknesses:
The location of the remove button for the face plate. I have accidently hit the "remove" button during play, on several occassions...

Summary:
I paid $385 and think the price is well worth it. Your not paying for looks, or just the name, your paying for performance with this deck.

Strengths:
The Alpine TDA-7564 is an excelent choice to go with. It's 40 watt by 4 internal amp, drives a lot of POWERFULL, CRYSTAL CLEAR power to mids and highs. I have this deck hooked up to 2 Infinity Reference 5 1\4's and 2 Pioneer TS-A6959 three way 6 x 9's. This deck pushes all my mids and highs nicely. It sounds like there amped. The deck comes with way more than enough options. Tha Ai-net is a cool feature. It works with any Alpine CD changer, and has nice looks. The TDA-7564 goes for about $385 now. The 2,4V pre-amp outputs push CLEAN powerfull signals to hooked up anmps. This deck is fully ready for competition.

Weaknesses:
The fact that you can't store tape names in, like you can with radio station names, and CD names.
