Price Paid:  $110.00 from Best Buy

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 KD-S590

Summary:
It's a well performing cd player. It has served me well for the time I've had it. I purchased another car though and decided to leave it in the one that broke it in. I was running 2 sony 5 1/4" three ways, 2 pioneer 6"-9" three way, and two 15" peavey black widow subwoofers powered by a 1200w - 2 channel amplifier. All of that ran through this well priced (it was more expensive at the time I purchased it) cd player. I have the model with the black and white LCD display and it matched with the interrior of the car a little better with red buttons.

Strengths:
A lot of power for a good price. Reliable/hardly skips. Sleek design, one of my favorites. Not too nice looking to be stolen. Removable face plate. Basic non-pre amp out ports (laimens terms- you can connect your own amp and the leiniency is very nice. Plays cdrs with out a problem. Reads scratched up cd's fairly well. VERY easly programmed! Never ruins a cd, or won't eject.

Weaknesses:
Over time, the rollers that retract and eject the cd will become slippery. They lose their grip and just keep spinning while the cd is going no where. Not a huge problem because you can still reach down and pull the cd out with ease.
