This player is awesome. I bought it as a cheap player to tide me over until I could afford a better one. That was at least 2 years ago. I have been so happy with this player that I have no plans on replacing it in the near future. I did not see this particular model for sale at the usal online sources I use. The model does have some age to it now. They are listed on EBay for almost nothing. I would not hesitate to buy a used unit for a spare room or college use. Once I finally upgrade to a newer model I'll put this one in my study to use there and free up my PC for other things while I'm watching something. It's another great product from Sony. Strengths:
Excellent quality player at a very low price. Also, plays DVD+/-R, DVD+/-RW, CD-R, CD-RW. A DVD burner and DV camcorder is all you need to make digital home movies. Weaknesses:
Does not play DivX (MPEG 4). Will probably upgrade to one of the LiteOn DVD players or equivalent in a couple of years.
