from Friend Summary: This Sherwood amp is large, but has the power to compensate for it's size. It is a very simple amp. With the essentials for a 4 channel amp; SUB EQ, and Parallel Input. I used this amp to power a 12" sub(capable of handling 100W RMS), and it's 170W RMS output was certainly enough to burn the speaker. Only at half power, the speaker was having trouble not bottoming out. People say sherwood is a crappy name brand, distorts, and over-rates it's products. But apparently those people know nothing. I searched for Sherwood online, and there isn't much about the company, they are very rare, and this is my first time in contact with them. Perhaps those people are thinking of Sherwood hockey sticks? ;o) Anyways, I just know this is a great amp, and it's worth the money.
Black Venom.....
Strengths: Has good power, full range of sound. Solid construction, solid electronics. Good quality. Has SUB EQ. Weaknesses: If hooked up to a tweeter, it has a high pitch hiss if the channel sensitivity is too high. Doesn't have a built in crossover.
