Summary:
Paired with my Accuphase C290, this amp deliver the best quality you can expect from Accuphase. P800 was always my dream gear but could not afford to own it. P700 seems to sound faster and more pin point than P800 from rough memory. Overall sonic character is little bit sweet, transparent, airy, analytical with adequate speed. Rich harmonies are trade mark of Accuphase sound and in P700 you would never feel short of it. This amp suit my wide spectrum of musical taste, range from: pop, rock, heavy metal, punk, vocal, jazz, classic, chamber, opera, volin...perhaps most except electronic and rap. Compare with other gear at similar level, its strength is not human vocal but has a high average in every area. Powercord matching is important as it draws a big current. JPS Labs AC Power is a good match. Power conditioning also counts significantly. I think great effort is required to tune up its best performance. Must use the balance input only and if possible pair with Accuphase pre-amp. It runs warm only even after long hours of high volume playing. For Accuphase fans, this amp is perfect and given good effort it should exceed your expectation. For those who like thick and slow (or not very responsive) sound, this may not be their cup of tea.

Strengths:
Excellent sound. Contains every Accuphase trademark you can imagine. Classy looking.

Weaknesses:
Very heavy hence does not allow handy vibration treatment. Speaker terminal does not accept banana plug.
