Hello, I was the first person to review this product on here in December 2002, just before Christmas,i left a few spelling mistakes,but not this time lol (laugh out loud!). Arcam AV8 / P7 and DV27, since my last review things started to go wrong,the amp P7 started to buzz loudly in quiet parts of the film and the DVD player DV27 wouldnt respond and laser tracking, very noisey as it moved to next chapter,phoned Arcam, who said take it back to your dealer,i did, i took it all back and they replaced it all in 4 days. ARCAM FMJ AV8/P7 and DV27. Everything was fine for the first few days,then i noticed the DV27 sometimes CRASHED and wouldnt do anything,went back to manual which said turn OFF for 30 seconds,it worked okay,until i turned it off, the next day it just said ON ,on the display ,open didnt work nothing did,and this was one of the upgraded versions,i took it back 22nd Febuary 2003 to PETER TYSON, who will now replace it again,but here we go the FMJ DV27 as new name from APRIL 2003 FMJ DV27A, as you have guessed DVD-AUDIO. But cd display has changed, where it said cd and mp3 in the top left corner is now in the right top corner and clear as a bell,not like this one 2nd dvd player i have just took back, blurred. My first DV27 was as clear as a bell in the top left corner where it said CD and mp3 and was a clearer picture than the 2nd which I took back today,no shakey-ness or flickering. PETER TYSON i would recommend as a HIFI DEALER to HOME CINEMA to anyone for Service or even just a chat and what products to buy for your home, a helpful service,i speak to MATTHEW TYSON who always has time to talk,and has a great laugh and joke and a pleasure to see you, and understands what you want .as for the ARCAM DV27 which i have not got,im using my american dvd player TOSHIBA SD9200 DVD Audio and progressive scan,PURE REGION 1,which i must say is on parr,i just wanted a full matching system,being ARCAM,FMJ AV8 AND P7. The Arcam AV8/P7 is just fantastic i cant beleive the sound i get its just like being there in the film,just go out and buy it,you wont be SORRY, the dvd player is just another story im probably just unlucky. Strengths:
Fantastic sound and great value for money,easy to use,presets are a great feature,sub and trim level are a great idea,no need to go into menu,they are there on the remote, again FANTASTIC....

Weaknesses:
none just a little gripe as before source light should have been sheilded,lights next source slighty.thats it,and BLOODY HEAVY P7 power amp ...

this arcam system is worth every penny,i also bougth the mathing fmj dv-27 dvd player,i had the denon avc-a1se before i bought the arcam,dont listen to the magazines about the denon compares simalar sound,the arcam just blows it away in every sence,on bass and dilogue and the surround sound more open,it unreal,affects just blow you away,and i was a denon die hard fan ,for the last ten years,no more,even thouhg i still have some denon left,buy this with confidence,i would buy it again,oh if you buy a fmj dv27 make sure its had the upgtrade,say december 2002 onwards,it now includes 625p,where as the new arcam diva is called dv88 plus the fmj dv27,will not be called dv27 plus,go out and buy it now never mind 5 out 5,i will give 6 out of 5

sound,sound,sound,and more sound,i just watched 1 film before,now i want to but more on as the sound addicts you

green led on av8 should have been shielded,for source
